Pets are not allowed inside the cabin of aircrafts operating in the premium economy class aircraft, like the Boeing 7897-9 (789) A330-300 (333) or 788-788 (788). For United Airlines and flights from or to Hawaii pets are not allowed in the cabin. Little dogs and cats. Pets are allowed for each adult traveling. Air Canada will ban dogs or cats from planes with HEPA filters when a person allergic to cats or dogs travels on the plane. If the animal is one of the service animals, priority is given to the first booking made. Air Canada will not transport pets inside the cabin to these places: Australia, Barbados, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Air Canada will fly pets from the UK and Hawaii inside the cabin. Air Canada permits 2 to 4 pets in the cabin on a flight. Small pets and dogs can travel with you within the cabin, provided the pet and the carrier weigh less than 22 pounds (10 kilograms). Pets count toward the allowance for carry-ons and must be secured on the seat during the flight. The pet fee to travel inside the cabin will be $ 50 USD for domestic flights and $100 USD for international flights. If your pet is traveling in the cabin, hard-sided carriers cannot be larger than 9″ x 15.5″ x 21.5″ [23 cm x 40 cm x 55 cm], also soft-sided carriers will not more 10.5″ x 15.5″ x 21.5″ (27 cm 40 cm x 55.5 cm). If pets are in the carrier, the carriers cannot be over the size of 115″ (292 centimeters) and must be constructed of a hard side with a leak-proof seal and large enough so that your pet can stand, rotate around, and lie down comfortably. Pets are not permitted to travel in any class’s Premium economy class or bulkhead rows. Pets cannot travel with you on Boeing 737 (Max 8) aircraft. If your travel itinerary includes a flight advertised via Air Canada but operated by an Air Canada codeshare partner, you won’t be allowed to take your pet on the flight. Pets must be present 30 minutes prior to the recommended check-in time for your flight, fully weaned, and at least 10 weeks old. In order to check in, you must see an agent. It is not possible to check in online or at a self-service kiosk at the airport when traveling with dogs.

Unaccompanied Minor

Young children who travel without parents or legal guardianship are considered to be unaccompanied minors. Many airlines offer a service to help these children get from their departure point to their destination. You can buy this Unaccompanied Minor option for the child if they’re traveling on a Nonstop plane operated through Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge or a stop-over Air Canada Express flight operated by Jazz. When traveling, children under the age of eight must be escorted by an adult who is sixteen or older. It is mandatory for children under age 8. UM service is required for children ages 8-11 who travel independently. This UM service is not needed for children aged 12-17 traveling alone—the fee for an unaccompanied minor is $100 USD/CAD one-way. The service is offered exclusively on flights that are nonstop operated through Air Canada and Jazz; Tier 3 flights Central Mountain Air (CMA), Air Georgian (GX), and Exploits Valley Air (8k). The service is not available on connecting flights or codeshare flights. The adult responsible for the child must stay in the terminal until the flight has left in the event of a delay in the flight. This Unaccompanied Minor service is not bought for codeshare or connecting flights because we cannot fulfill all the obligations required to move a minor from an airport connecting. It can also be difficult for minors who are not accompanied to navigate through connections, mainly if an interruption in flight occurs at the point of connection.
