Air Niugini Limited is Papua New Guinea’s national airline, and its headquarters are located at Air Niugini House, which is situated on the grounds of Port Moresby International Airport. While its sister firm, Link PNG, runs routes to smaller airports, it runs a domestic network from Port Moresby to 12 main airports. 

On a weekly basis, it also runs international flights throughout Oceania, Asia, and Australia. Its primary base is the Port Moresby International Airport in the Port Moresby neighborhood of 7 Mile, Papua New Guinea. The Tok Pisin name for New Guinea is Niugini.

The airline is not a member of any worldwide airline alliance. However, its has a codeshare agreement with various airlines and shares the routes as well as the flights.

Baggage Allowance Policy

Air Nuigini decides the baggage allowance for the respective customers depending on the travel class, fare type and destination.

International Route

Air Nuigini offers flexibility to the customers to cancel their booking anytime earlier than the departure. But depending on the fare type, travel class and fare rule, the cancellation fee applies to the flight cancellation after 24 hours of booking or a few hours before the departure.

Within 24 hours of the booking is considered as the risk-free period to cancel the flight as it enables the fliers to avoid cancellation fees and get a full refund. If there is any unavoidable reason behind flight cancelation, Air Nuigini may refund the customers.

Cabin Classes

Air Nuigini has mainly two travel classes such as:

Economy: Inflight services and seatings are based on the four categories of economy fare such as Promo, Saver, Semi-Flex and Flex. Economy fares are reasonable in comparison to the business class fare.

Business: There are two categories of Business class fare such as Business saver and Business flex. Depending on the fare type, customers are provided with the onboard services accordingly. However, business fare is expensive as compared to economy class fare. Business flex is partially refundable while saver is not accessible on the domestic route.

Seat Selection

Air Nuigini has a seat selection policy and allowance for the customers to choose the seat in advance of the travel date. Using the mobile app or the official site, customers can choose the seat conveniently. Rather than these options, customers can even request for their preferred seat at the airport while checking in for the flight.

Inflight Entertainment & WiFi

Currently, there is no inflight wifi service to its customers. However, Air Nuigini has various entertainment options for its travelers. Food & Drinks

However, one must request the food and drinks based on requirements in advance of the flight. There are complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic drinks accessible to all the fliers.

Check in

Air Nuigini includes web check in so that one could check in for the flight conveniently from anywhere, without any hassle. The web check in continues 24 hours before the flight and closes 60 minutes ahead of the departure. Customers are highly urged to check in for the flight on time.  Depending on the customers’ preference, an airport self-service kiosk is the other option to check in for the flight. However, customers must arrive at the airport at least 3-4 hours before the scheduled departure.

Pet Policy

On meeting all the required documents such as WB Export Permit, Vaccination Certificate, and Transit Permit, customers are liable to leverage cargo service for the pet. Further, Air Niugini does not accept pets for travel in the cabin. One must ensure to contact the executive regarding the pet allowance for the travel, at least 48-24 hours earlier than the flight departure.

Unaccompanied Minor

Air Niugini includes unaccompanied minor service and allows the kids to travel alone. However, the service is valid for children between six years old and eleven years old. Meanwhile, one has to provide certain required documents such as age proof identity, contact details of parents and legal guardian and other relevant documents.

Lounge
