AirTran Airways, a former American low-cost airline, became a part of Southwest Airlines in 2014 after being acquired by the latter. Before the acquisition, AirTran was based primarily at Orlando International Airport (MCO) but later moved its operations to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) after being bought by Southwest. AirTran Airways operated nearly 700 daily flights, serving a combination of domestic and international routes. Its domestic focus was mainly on destinations in the eastern and midwestern regions of the United States. Additionally, AirTran operated flights to international destinations in Mexico and Central America. AirTran Airways was established in 1993 under the name Conquest Sun Airlines but rebranded to AirTran Airways just a year later.

Baggage Policy

Carry-On Baggage: Southwest Airlines allows each passenger to bring one carry-on bag and one personal item (e.g., purse, laptop bag, or small backpack) on board for free. Pet Policy
